LoJack International renforce sa présence en Europe avec l’ouverture de sa filiale française

LoJack International strengthens its presence in Europe with the opening of its French subsidiary

A global leader in innovative stolen vehicle security and recovery solutions, LoJack, the international division of CalAmp, is expanding into the French market with the opening of a dedicated subsidiary in France. With over 40 years of expertise and a global presence, LoJack International brings cutting-edge technologies to the French market to enhance vehicle security, as well as telematics solutions for fleet management.

Invented in 1978 in the United States by a police officer looking for a solution to enable law enforcement to combat vehicle theft, the LoJack system combines Radio Frequency (VHF), GSM and GPS technology to locate a stolen vehicle and then recover it in collaboration with the police, in order to return it to its owner.

A pioneer in the market, LoJack is today a key player in the localization and recovery of stolen vehicles, operating internationally. Thanks to its global network and local partnerships, LoJack quickly locates stolen vehicles and minimizes their recovery time.

LoJack is now being deployed in France, where thefts of vehicles (light vehicles, light commercial vehicles, heavy goods vehicles) and construction machinery (backhoe loaders, bulldozers, aerial work platforms, etc.) are increasing and are becoming a concern 1, 2 . According to Eurostat data (2021), France ranks first in the ranking of countries with the highest number of vehicle thefts (122,000), followed by Italy with more than 110,000 vehicles stolen. Far behind are Germany with 39,000 thefts, Turkey (33,000), the Netherlands (22,000) and Spain (20,000). Combining Radio Frequency (VHF), GSM and GPS technology, LoJack ensures precise real-time tracking to support the stolen asset recovery process 3 .

“The launch of LoJack France is an important milestone for our expansion in Europe,” said Maurizio Iperti, President of LoJack . “With the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal and now France, we are continually expanding our global presence helping our customers track, monitor, recover and optimize their assets with unparalleled connected intelligence, enabling them to manage and grow their businesses.”

Over the past few years, LoJack’s multi-technology approach has significantly accelerated the recovery of stolen vehicles and strengthened efforts to combat vehicle crime globally, with over €1.8 billion worth of stolen vehicles returned to their rightful owners. LoJack International’s subscription-based Stolen Vehicle Recovery (SVR) business continues to grow, offering solutions as original equipment, ROI-driven fleet management and pre-installation across entire vehicle fleets. It is supported by close collaboration with all police forces at various levels as well as private investigator networks.

While stolen vehicle recovery remains a core business, LoJack has diversified its offering with in-vehicle telematics solutions, following its acquisition in 2016 by CalAmp, a global leader in connected mobility solutions. The modular “LoJack Connect Fleet Management” platform, built on scalable cloud technology, integrates telematics services, software and advanced IT solutions into a unified IoT ecosystem, ensuring continuous vehicle connectivity and optimized fleet operations.

"Thanks to our flexible and constantly evolving platform (updated every two weeks), we offer both real-time monitoring of fleets, steering, rapid analysis of key performance indicators and thus enable optimization of their use by identifying opportunities and maximizing their efficiency" concludes Maurizio Iperti.

With an annual growth rate of +80% over the last 40 years, LoJack France is part of the group's growth dynamic, which now has more than 1 million active subscribers in Europe. The French subsidiary will deploy, particularly in France, the European agreements concluded with large groups such as car manufacturers, rental companies, etc. The expansion into the French market will also allow us to better serve many of our European customers with operations in France, by guaranteeing seamless cross-border support. This strategic approach underlines the company's commitment to meeting the constantly evolving needs of its growing European customer base.
